One sided reffing in this one, green got the bench minor for giving it to refs near the end, 2 games now no pp for the canucks as they have a good one, All in all it was an entertaining game. |

Think the Bruins would go after McDonagh?
https://youtu.be/35z7u_LXy5c - Allforhim12
There was discussion on the radio this morning about this too. There is also talk that he may make the jump to the Bruins after Olympics. It would make it easier to move a guy like Bjork in a trade.
Maybe Carlo, Bjork + for McDonagh?
Carlo, DeBrusk and 1st was mentioned. I wouldn't give up that much but then again I'm a Sys Admin and not an NHL GM, soooo....
I feel like Carlo has to go the other way. If the Bruins want to sign McDonagh long term they can't pay McDonagh, Carlo and McAvoy without sacrificing forwards. |

I agree that Bjork is a prime trade candidate. He’s gonna be a good player but idk if he fits in as well as other guys in the system
I don’t like trading Carlo right now. I think he’s got Luke Schenn written all over him (hope I’m wrong) but they don’t have a long term replacement. RHD are a rare commodity, I think we need to ride out his development.
I think Bjork, Zboril 1st ought to be enough, shouldn’t have to give up 2 nhl ready kids, although idk how the money works
McDonagh McAvoy
Chara Carlo
Krug Killer
Gryz McQuaid
That’s crazy D depth |

Zboril is not going to be enough. Reports are not good on him. I think he is going to be the one you look back at with 20/20 vision and say they should've drafted Barzal/Connor/Boeser.
Also think about the cap. If you trade away Bjork and Carlo wouldn't you want McDonagh to sign long term? To pay McAvoy, McDonagh and Carlo what they're worth on top of Rask, Marchand, Bergeron, Krejci. Pastrnak and Backes now becomes dicey when its time for Heinen, DeBrusk, and eventually Donato |

You’re probably right about Zboril not being enough, but I still think Carlo is too much. Bjork and 1st is a great starting point, I don’t think it should take another huge piece to get it done. Also, hindsight 20/20, imagine if Sweeney took Barzal, Boeser, Debrusk? That could be the best line in the league lol
I don’t think Carlo is gonna command a big cap hit. I’m also not really interested in signing McDonagh long term, unless he takes a very team friendly deal. I think they’ll be fine with the cap anyway as long as Bergeron and Marchand maintain their play. Those two for like 14m when guys are making 10+ on their own is a total bargain. Belesky, McQuaid, Chara, Hayes will be off the books. They obviously can’t keep everyone, but they’ll be able to keep who they want |

That would've been gross! Good lord.
I think if the Bruins make the trade for McDonagh it makes them a very real cup threat this and then next 2-3 years. After that Vancouver game I would drive Carlo to the airport in favor of McDonagh. Also the leadership core of Bergeron, McDonagh, Backes and Chara( yes I would extend him 1-2 year for the right price). Would be one of the best in the league. |

I still hate the idea of giving up on young D men. McDonagh would be an excellent addition dont get me wrong, just sucks if it comes at the expense of a young D man like Carlo. I know his play has left much to be desired this year, but this is his Sophomore season, give the kid some time to grow.
They gave Kevan Miller the time and look at the result. When he is healthy he is a good shutdown guy. Carlo has a lot to learn, but I thought he bounced back great from a bad game against vancouver the other night against Calgary. I would much rather them hold on to Carlo, but I may be alone in that regard. |

McDonagh is 28. He is far from old. The difference is Kevan Miller would never fetch you a top 2 defender in a trade. Also Chairelli left the prospect pool barren and the cap swollen. Not really many options to maneuver. Plus you have to make the salary work
after next year. You can't give up a kid like Carlo and not extended McDonagh. You also can't afford to sign Carlo, McAvoy and McDonagh and then expect to have cap left to deal with the forwards and a backup goalie in a year or 2.
If this trade was even remotely for real the Bruins should be allowed by the Rangers to discuss an extension to gauge where he is. If not stick with kids and look for other opportunities. |

I wasnt trying to insinuate McDonagh was old. Rather let the home grown talent grow and get the playoff experience. Do we need a McDonagh on the team, or would a lesser option be just as effective for depth as a rental option?
Do the Bruins really need a player like McDonagh? At this juncture, I am more inclined to say no even though it is a very tempting prospect. |

Iggy working out with P-Bruins? Can Holden even crack this lineup? Will a current roster D-man (Carlo) be dangled for a scoring winger (Nash)? Hmmm...... |

I don't know if it's my blind bias to anything Iginla (such a great player) or what, but I don't mind this at all. There's no real risk in seeing what he's got left in the tank. |

Holden is a depth move. Start resting Chara more and get a rotation going.
I dont mind the Iginla in providence thing. Having him on a 1yr, 1M contract wouldnt hurt my feelings. |

The LHD depth certainly won't hurt as they're really thin there. I dunno about Iggy he was brutal for the Avs and Kings last year. We'll just have to drink...er follow along. |
